I’m an independent software developer and the sole creator of Apex Ledger Pro.

There is no large company behind this project. No investors. No venture capital funding. No corporate board.

Just one developer building small business software for owners who want to own their software, avoid endless subscriptions, and keep control of their data.

Why I Personally Started This Project

Hi, I’m Larry, the sole developer behind Apex Ledger Pro.

Before building Apex Ledger Pro, I worked in customer support for a subscription-based software company. Every day I spoke with business owners who relied on software they didn’t truly own.

I watched subscription costs increase, features move behind higher-priced plans, and small business owners become increasingly dependent on services they couldn’t control.

Many of those customers weren’t asking for more features. They simply wanted software that was reliable, affordable, and built around their needs.

“Why can’t businesses own their software anymore?”

Apex Ledger Pro is my answer to that question.

I wanted to create offline business software that gives business owners an alternative to endless subscriptions, recurring fees, and losing control of their own data.

The Problem I Kept Seeing

Over the years, I watched more and more software move to subscription pricing.

Small businesses that once purchased software outright were now expected to pay month after month, year after year, simply to keep access to the tools they rely on.

What starts as a few monthly subscriptions can eventually become hundreds or even thousands of dollars every year, especially for owners already balancing payroll, taxes, and day-to-day operating costs.

At the same time, many business owners are expected to put critical accounting and financial data into systems they do not control.

I believed independent software developer projects could still offer another path: practical, no subscription software built for real businesses.

Why Apex Ledger Pro Exists

Apex Ledger Pro was created around a simple idea:

Business owners should own their software.

Instead of renting software forever, Apex Ledger Pro gives businesses a way to invest in small business software they can keep using, with a founder-led product direction instead of a subscription-first roadmap.

The Mission

My goal is simple:

Create powerful business software that small businesses can actually afford to own.

I believe software should help businesses grow, not become another recurring bill. That mission is what keeps this solo developer software project moving forward.
